God is using Southern Baptist volunteers!

We’ve seen it happen time and time again!  Volunteers do things that we could not do on our own.  Whether it is exploratory research into a new area for future work, a sports camp, English club, or a businessmen’s forum, volunteers use their unique spiritual gifts and talents to assist us in telling Hungarians about eternal life in Jesus Christ!  Even though a project may last only from a few days to a couple of weeks, God uses volunteers to make an impact for eternity.

Through volunteer projects we pray that the following goals be met:

  1. Jesus Christ would be proclaimed, honored and glorified in all that we say and do.
  2. Through prayerful research a clear strategy will emerge on how to begin new work in a formerly un-reached community.
  3. Relational bridges will be established within communities for effectively sharing the Gospel.
  4. As a result of volunteer outreach projects, new home Bible study groups will be initiated that will become the basis for new churches.

In pursuit of our vision to make Christ known to every heart, we have two types of volunteer projects that enable us to advance forward: Pioneers and Bridge Builders

Pioneer Expeditions: These are exploratory projects that involve prayer walking, researching and exploring communities, towns and cities where we will seek to establish new churches.  Pioneers prayerfully ask the questions:  “What is the cultural context of this community?”  “Who are the gatekeepers?”  “What are the bridges and barriers to sharing the Gospel?”  “What kinds of outreach projects are needed to share the Gospel and initiate home Bible study groups?”

Bridge Builders: These outreach projects enable us to build relational bridges into a community using activities of local interest. This gives us a platform for the specific purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These events allow us to then initiate home Bible study groups.  Bridge building projects will usually include such activities as prayer walking and distributing New Testaments among the community.
